As far as I know , we should call huisartsen post when we cannot wait until the next morning because of the pain. My little daughter was sick so I called the huisartsenpost at 01:00 a.m. They told me I have to go there immidately. I asked them two times when should I come, they said again you can come now.
Anyway, we had to wait 2 hours and 30 minutes. Imagine waiting that long with a toddler who is sick and wants to sleep because it’s midnight. I mean how can this happen. What kind of logic is this???? If she would feel well I wouldn’t even call. We got back home that night after 4 a.m. You guys need to do something and not let sick people wait that long. It wasn’t just us, there was also a really sick man who couldn’t stand and he went home because he couldn’t wait anymore. I am really disappointed.
Waiting times can be really long here...
Saturday 08-08-2020; at 13:53 my partner calls the HAP to say that our 1.5-year-old daughter has a fever, spots all over her body, has vomited, feels weak and keeps falling asleep. We are requested to come to the HAP in the corona units at the main entrance of the hospital. When we arrive there we have to wait. We are not feeling well and all in all we called about 4 times, 2 of which with the emergency number, on which the 'triagist' on duty tells us that he has more patients and that we have to wait our turn, for the kiss & ride for the entrance with 36 ° C outside. It is striking that there are no other people waiting in front of us. In half an hour, not even someone comes to see her! Eventually the doctor sees, when he finally sees her, that she loses consciousness from time to time and the ball finally starts rolling ... However, he decided not to call an ambulance but to take us to St. Antonius with our own car. Nieuwegein. Once here our daughter says "here we are", as if she knows she is in the right place. The seriousness is indeed seen here and the diagnosis is made that our daughter has a serious bacterial meningitis! Drama through. Her life has been saved here by means of adequate action, for which endless thanks.
It is unpalatable to us that a healthcare institution does not place anyone to replace the task of the receptionist who normally can at least see the patients when they arrive and keep an eye on them in the waiting room. That a triagist, if the emergency number is called twice, still refuses to take a pulse (or have it checked). A child of barely 1.5 years old cannot indicate how serious it is! In this way, life-threatening situations are simply missed and that is an inhumane situation. If we unexpectedly end up in such a nasty situation, we immediately drive to the right hospital, and with a wide circle around this mockery. The meningitis was an unfortunate course of nature, the HAP an unfortunate accumulation of human error.
Really ridiculous, as read here you will be helped when you have an eye infection, but as soon as your throat is infected and you have been dealing with it for 2 days and can barely eat and drink you will receive the standard advice. Which I already followed .. thank you hey ... now we have a bad night (again)
Too bad, but this weak Bite does not deserve 1 star yet. You cannot start a review without a star !! What a bunch of sad horns there are on Leidsche Rijn. I call for my father because he is very confused and restless, situation at home not tenable you will be fobbed off with 1 paracetamol !! My father has no fever or / and or pain. Or to find out.
When I go to the garage for a broken headlight, they don't say either, pump up your tires, maybe it helps.
What poor people! This cannot wait until the next day.
