Definitely good service and friendly mister vander meer
My experience is very bad. The old (71 years old) bicycle mechanic is friendly, but that's where it stops. He is very vague about the prices and he is very expensive. I have asked indication price, he said it is not too expensive, otherwise I am called ... But, when picking up the bike he asked 90 euros for the places of the chain and tuning the gears!?! (I bought the bicycle chain myself, so he did not place any new parts). When asked what is his hourly wage, he said 60 euros!?. I was very angry and I thought I was being scammed. I never go there again and I advise everyone!
Scammed by Meerhout.
Brought my bicycle for a flat tire here I had to pay 22.50 euros for 7.50 for new inner tube and 15.00 euros for wages.
Picked up the next day and cycled to my physiotherapist.
When I came back from my treatment after half an hour, a piece of my dress guard was on the floor and I saw that a piece of my tire was outside my rim.
I had to walk back from Savorin Lohmanplein while being treated for a bursa inflammation in my hip.
The workshop was closed when Meerhout arrived.
The next day back and he thought that this was a bad luck and I had to pay 44.50. The tire looked good.
Yes, it was less than a year old and of good quality.
When inquiring at other bicycle shops, they all said the same thing when the tire was almost new, the only possibility is that the inner tube was not used properly and then you get a blowout.
And in the amount of 44.50 was again 17.50 wages.
For the inner tube, the wages of EUR 15.00, see above, were also quite remarkable.
So because of his mistake, he dares to ask me 67 euros for a flat tire.
And then he dared to tell me that my bike needed maintenance.
Have seen that he also sells second hand bikes that are at least 30 years old. Be warned if you bought his old bike do not count on service.
Because when you return the next day, the cash register will ring.
What a nasty man would have wanted to pay for the new tire himself.
Small business with a reasonable choice of new (and used) bicycles from cheap to expensive. Nice "service" and excellent service! Pins possible! Calling for an appointment is advised, but you can also come by spontaneously.
