This church, which is constructed of wood - a rarity in Amsterdam - and hosts concerts & art exhibitions, boasts delicately carved acanthus-topped columns and matching ceiling consoles. The height of the ceiling in the crossing breaks what would otherwise be a perfect cube. With its finely proportioned windows, this intimate little building has the grace and style of a very fine jewelry box.
Nice little art exhibit. Interesting local painter.
Visited for a small singing venue, the location is convenient. Inside the building is very charming and charismatic with a really tall ceiling. Has a art work hanging on the walls and gives you a sense of Amsterdam history. Its not very big but was good for our visit.
I'm the producer of concerts in the Amstelkerk. It's a great venue and a very professional group of professionals to work with.
