Nationaal Monument Kamp Amersfoort

There's almost nothing left from the camp itself, but the visitors center is full of interesting models, pictures and items. They are going to reconstruct a part of the camp it I understand it correctly. I heard the tour is good, but we got assigned to someone who dragged every tiny detail out and lectured as if to kids (with voices and acting out scenes in a childish way), so perhaps they need to have some training in that area. On the whole it was touching, informative and educational. Well worth the trip!

Immersive, outside photo display of former prisoners. They were more than just a number. An accompanying flyer gives their name and a personal statement. Friendly volunteers give you a nice history of the camp.

Really amazing place

A place with a very sad history. Right now, while ambitious renovation takes place, very little of historical significance to see, hardly worth the price of the ticket.

A reminder of what we are able to do, and what we, has humans, should avoid!
