The history of the town starts here. Pait means salty... That is why the town is called Maasin or Ma-asin(salty) - it will lead you to a small spring where the history of maasin started. Annnndd. Pait spring is not just a spring but it is also once a church. And every fiesta of the Brgy. Magsaysay(that is wher the spring is found) a mass is held in the spring in the morning as a celebration to the separation of Cabatuan and Maasin(maasin was once just a part of cabatuan[another town]until the pait spring was founded).
