Cantina by Ayo - Robinsons North Tacloban

This place was great, the prices looked a little much at first, but the servings were worth it. I liked the variety of food, lots of different flavors on traditional dishes. That side salad was great, nice little surprise.

I should be giving a 5-star rating to this restaurant since my first visit. I really had a wonderful dinning experience last year (2018). I am an occassional traveller to Tacloban City, and Cantina has made a pin to my must-dine restaurants. Unfortunately, my recent visit wasn't as good as I have expected. Few days ago, we came in for a late lunch. As per ushe, I ordered the cheese roll (forgot the exact name but I was badly craving for it) and chicharones (their best seller) and a spanish style bangus. We were entertained and served well. Was only a bit distracted when their kitchen and some other staffs were giggling and laughing loudly knowing they have customers around (though we were the only guests at that time, they should still have respected our presence.) Also we noticed that the service was a bit slow despite the number of their staff. When the food arrived, to my disappoint, the chicharones was burnt (it wasn't the same as the one that I had,) presentation nevermind, the food was okay but it failed my expectation. Frankly, it was too pricey for its kind (I meant the chicharones.) I paid 495php solo plated meal for a burnt pork meat. That was really frustrating. Really! I am sorry to had to ranted it here, I just felt cheated and dissatisfied at that time. I did not even bother taking photos of the food anymore since it wasn't pleasing enough. Nonetheless, over-all they serve good food with a price. I may or may not come back but it is worth the try!
