Buy bulk fish for big discounts. Some vendors minimun order quantity is 5 kg. The fish port opens in the wee hours as the fishermen bring in their catch for the night. If the moon was bright or the waves are big during the night, then cost of fish rises so carefully plan your visit. Tips: 1. Bring someone who knows about fish. 2. Bring a coleman/ice box placed inside a big palanggana (dishpan) to avoid fishy odour on your car. 3. Wear shoes/boots if you can to protect your feet. Bota if mayroon.

The new passenger terminal of bulan is small but its still a great help for passengers. Passenger terminal fee is 12 pesos.

As of posting, despite its improvements, it still has a long way to go to make the experience of using this port convenient and sufficient. If you come into the pier inside a tricycle then you pay a total of P32 (includes vehicle fee, entrance fee, terminal fee). The tricycles themselves don't tell you how much to pay so the Metro Manila rate of P40 should be more than enough! I didn't go check if there's any restroom, but it's a dusty port - mostly agricultural, construction, and household products being loaded - he epitome of any provincial port. There is a small waiting shed of metal with no real seats. A woman on the floor selling junk food, stale bread, and an assortment of softdrinks. Boats seem to have very flexible schedules which can be a good or bad thing depending on whether you're early or running late. I usually end up on the 1230 boat, the last trip is 3pm (but by then the water is a tad choppy) to San Jacinto (125-140 fare). Most boats are the traditional 'lantsa' type. Despite a ban, and common sense, on throwing garbage into the sea, the people of the area still do it either at the port or when the boat is in the open sea, and they do it wantonly.

Terminal has enough seating and is ventilated. Restrooms are clean. Staff are informative, helpful and accommodating.
