I booked for my wife and son as it was a convenient location to obtain her travel permit, however after getting there she was told that the Hotel no longer exist! I am currently in the process of getting my full refund

Great location. Bang opp. SM Manila Mall. Will be difficult to find some there are no signboards anywhere. Look for the Boys Scout Building. 6th floor.

Lobby at 6th floor of boys scout building, rooms at floors above 6. At the time only 1 elevator was working.... so it will take very long time to get in the elevator. The room was very big but there was a strange smell, something stale or mouldy. The shower drain was kinda blocked so it doesn't drain fast. The aircon was very noisy and making weird metal clanking sound sometimes.

My stay at Reddoorz was a series of unfortunate and highly unpleasant events and made me leave for alternative lodging midway through my planned fourteen days stay. Firstly, finding the hotel is not particularly easy as it does not appear on Grab or Google Maps. When you do eventually enter the hotel (part of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines), you will realize there is ONLY ONE functional lift for 14 floors of hotel and Boy Scout offices at any one time. The wait time for the lift about 4-5 minutes on average. Secondly, the Wi-fi is extremely slow (e.g. google searches take more than a few seconds to buffer). Worse, it is spotty. I had to resort to using mobile data instead as the Wifi was too intermittent to do simple browsing tasks like checking email let alone watch videos. Loading the Reddoorz hotel website homepage itself took 5 mins. I am aware that the wifi is poor across the different floors because I had to change rooms. This was due to the shower drainage being clogged, which I discovered on my first evening and reported soon after. Unfortunately, the promise to fix plumbing ASAP was not realized in the next 24 hours, leaving me in a room that smelled like sewage and had a toilet that flooded if you use the shower for longer than a minute. I was offered another room later in the evening. When the housecleaning attendant and I entered the first room they offered me, we were buffeted by a strong smell of smoke that even he readily admitted to smelling (despite it being a non-smoking hotel). The next room they offered had a door that could only open half way (Aka half-swing) because the floor was uneven. Furthermore, the tap in the shower is constantly leaking and dripping (I can hear the water droplets drip as I type this). Picking the lesser of two evils, I settled for this non-smoky room as I figured I don’t have to open the door that often and I can put a bucket under the leaky tap and collect/conserve water. Unfortunately, two mornings later, I woke up and found a series of red welts on my upper right arm. Suspecting mosquito bites or bed bug bites, I googled it and based off the findings that bed bugs bites are generally clustered in the same region of your body. I figured it was bed bug bites. This left me afraid and uneasy when it came to sleeping later that night. Thus, after my day out, I came back and reported the incident. Somewhat frustratingly, the front desk staff was less than sympathetic, asking me “Why you didn’t report earlier?” almost as if it was my duty as a hotel guest to report the numerous flaws with their hotel at a time convenient to them. The front desk lady said, she’ll send someone from housekeeping up. The best solution they offered was to baygon spray the bed. Apparently, they were unable to change mattresses or rooms . After some mass spraying of Baygon, I was still bitten the next morning. I called the customer service the next night only to deal with a rude customer service named Check, who insisted i get a picture of the bed bugs(which are tiny) as proof, who additionally accused me of lying! Have never met someone so rude WARNING: if you have a family with young kids. I would NOT recommend staying here. Often, there were men loitering in the hotel corridors. At times, some just sit in the corridors and play games and loud music till past midnight. I have lived in hostels and hotels around the world in different continents and tens of countries. I have never got bed bugs in my life. I have never been in a hotel situation so bad where I had to move rooms and file multiple complaints. I don’t expect luxury and am fine with the minimal necessities. However, spotty wifi, showers that flood and smell of sewage (due to clogged drains) makes living in this hotel is like paying to live in misery. Note: Decent service recovery by the apologetic manager named Kathy must be commended. I managed to catch a picture of an insect and was able to cancel the last 5 days of my stay and escape.
