Van Gogh Alive

Looped animation... For 750... Its a rip off... No elaborate presentation of his life and work. Could've spent it better with Carlos Celdrans walking tour if he we're still alive. To anyone viewing this post... STAY AWAY for the exhibit...

So not worth it: 30 minutes of looped animated projections of the mad genius's most popular work (which are all over the internet anyway, and available as merch) set to easy listening classical music. Fool me once, shame on you, Mind Museum. We live and learn.

Content-wise, good. Was introduced to more Van Gogh works of art that were not the usual pieces commonly seen and used in merchandise or advertisements. Amazing yet tragic life. Price - steep for a video. Including a screening of "Loving Vincent" (or patron's choice from older movies about his life) and maybe a sheet of stickers or a tri-pack of baseball-type cards type featuring his work, would have made it a fuller experience. Venue - passable. Better if screens reached the ceiling, for a seemingly seamless surround. But sitting on the ground or on low benches helped make it a good, immersive experience. What ruined it for me were patrons taking (many) selfies in front of the screens. Next time, organizers, please allot a space (or specific screen area) for selfies. Hayaan nyo silang pumila at magsiksikan doon. I did not pay to watch people blocking my view to take multiple pictures of themselves - some very brazenly so.

Brilliant art and the animations are novel but on the whole the exhibit wasn't as good as we thought it would be. Not for Php750 at least.
