A small but beautiful museum in Butuan. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Unfortunately, not many people seem to be interested to visit this museum. Always when I am there, my family and I are the only guests.

If you're a history buff, interesting facts about the early Butuan before it became what it is now. The large grounds is good for an afternoon lounging on its park benches. I was hoping to find the Princess Tara but not on display.

Friendly staff. For history buffs, it's a good go-to tourist area in Butuan.

The museum was good. More on murals and paintings....not so on artifacts...they have a bog space but few to show to the public anyway it was good 😇

Schedule: Tuesday - Sunday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (except for special declaration) The place was nicely planned. It was fenced with live big tress, and in front of the museum is a lake(? or a river). Peace and artistly designed. The tour guide was really brilliant. he speaks calmly; not so fast but not so slow. His manner in talking shows that he really knows what his doing. He spoke of facts based on their written history, archaeological finds, geological records, and society. The paintings are really great. but, it was only painted by few people. It did not cater other artists - local artists (painters). I commend the curator for beautifully preserving the archaeological remains of Balangay. same is true with other man-made equipment and hand-tools. The museum is still too big not to be filled with artifacts that defines Butuan. Hope they could share more of what Butuan was millennia ago.
