A dynamic learning institution located at the very heart of Barangay Ocaña, five (5) kilometers South of Carcar City ONHS was established in 1992 through the efforts of Cong. Eduardo R. Gullas. It was once an annex school of Gelacio C. Babao, Sr MNHS (formerly Valladolid National High School) and started out using few of the classrooms of Ocaña Central School. While the classrooms cannot hold all the classes, some were building huts, while for the meantime, others used the shades of the trees to conduct their classes. The school was a dream come true for the people of barangay Ocaña and neighboring barangays whose thirst for education had been a major problem for them due to the cost of transportation and tuition which hinder them to pursue their dreams. In 1996, the school produced its first batch of graduates and was given its independence from its mother school. The enrolment of the school rapidly increased in just four years of existence, and even surpassed the enrolment of its former mother school. In 2010, DepEd has given the school the privilege to operate a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) class to cater the students with exemplary skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Four years ago, when Carcar became an Interim Division two (2) extension schools were opened in sitios Kalangyawon & Puesto of Barangay Napo, Carcar City which is Six (6) kilometers from Ocaña National High School to cater the students from the place and nearby sitios. That is bringing the school where the students are. Presently, the school has forty-nine (49) young, active, compassionate, zealous teachers who take pride in producing competent, morally upright and functionally literate individual. To work as a team and do the task collaboratively with the internal and external stakeholders in giving every opportunity for each student to be developed holistically, is the school’s ultimate goal. The school provides students the facilities, equipment and skills to better equip them for the challenges in the future. Our Vision: We dream of Filipinos who passionately love their country and whose values and competencies enable them to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to building the nation. As a learner-centered institution, the DepEd-ONHS continuously improves itself to better serve its stakeholders. Our Mission: To protect and promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete basic education where: students learn in a child friendly, gender-sensitive, safe and motivating environment; teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner; administrator and staff, as stewards of the institution, ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen; family , community and other stakeholders are actively engaged and share responsibility for developing life-long learners. Our Core Values: Maka-diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, and Makabansa.
