A fitting and moving tribute to the 300+ fishermen who have been declared missing and are presumed dead from the onslaught of Typhoon Pablo in 2012. This memorial contains all their names, names that do not really matter to us, but behind them are fathers, brothers, uncles, spouses, partners and friends of those who knew them. Offer a little prayer for them while here. It is also a dedication to the city's nameless who sweat it out in the fishing industry. We owe them.

Fishermen Shrine is General Santos City's tribute to over 300 fishermen who vanished at sea during the rampage of Typhoon Pablo in 2012. Standing at the green grass of Plaza Heneral Santos, the shrine is consisted of a golden anchor and a couple of black pillar monument. The black pillars bear the names of the fishermen who were out at sea during that fateful day to look after their family's needs. Dubbed as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, for General Santos City, fishermen are a vital component of the multi-million tuna industry.

The Fishermen's Shrine is a touching tribute to the 200 fishermen who have disappeared during the Typhoon Pablo. Aside from it's heartbreaking background story, the shrine is a work of art by itself. Located at within the Plaza Heneral Santos and in front of Iglesia Ni Cristo temple, you can easily visit this shrine and pay respect to the fallen fishermen.

This is a tribute to all fishermen who went missing last 2012 during Typhoon Pablo here at Plaza Heneral Santos. The Fishermen Shrine honors all their hardwork and dedication.
