Sky Hotel Pampanga

We stayed on the night of December 7, 2019 after watching the SEAGAMES. The staff were very polite, the room was clean and the hot shower works wonderfully to soothe our tired bodies. We ordered food and it was delicious and served timely.

We were suspicious when the check-in time was 4 pm and checkout time 12 midnight, and because the rooms rent for 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours. The website says no on-site parking, but the photo and a confirming email indicate a garage under the unit. When I inquired about that at the desk, the clerk told me they are a "drive-in hotel." That meant nothing to me, but when I asked our Filipino driver, he said the shorter times are for "personal pleasure." We had prepaid for 24 hours for a room for us and one for our driver, so stayed there. The room is just okay - only a top sheet for the bed, and the window air conditioner was very noisy. The only entrance to the room is through the garage; no one outside can see what cars are at the hotel, or who gets in and out of the cars. The room has two entrance doors, with a small foyer between, likely so that the door can be opened without a visitor seeing who's in the room. The website seems to indicate an onsite restaurant, but in fact there's only room service, and no food service within walking distance that we saw. The worst, though, was the huge half-alive cockroach that showed up in our bed when my husband got up, and the ants that trailed across a grout line on the floor. In the morning I found them inside my purse and in emptying it and brushing them off I was bitten three times, with resulting welts. Then, when we were outside ready to leave, a man rode up on a bicycle and said he needed to check the rooms before we left. I followed him, and he looked around and then inspected the top and bottom sheets. There's an extensive list of potential extra charges, including for blood or other stains on the sheets, and you can order standard or "premium" condoms. I get that there should be charges for damages, but I've never had anyone insist on inspecting a room before I can leave. Well, now I know what a drive-in hotel is, but even if I decided to stay in another one, it would never be this one or any other in this chain.
