Phone charger was not working. The staff on duty was not very helpful at all, not offering any resolution. I demanded the mere 5 pesos back not just because it was my money supposedly for a service but also for them to do something about the faulty device in the store. I was even told that it is not a property of 7 eleven and was just put on there, that I will not be warranted a refund of 5 pesos because she will end up short on her cashier post. I even got sarcasm from the cashier asking another staff for 7 eleven's phone number. HOWEVER, I'd like to commend the off-duty staff that assisted me with the issue. She gave me a refund out of her own pocket and instead of me keeping it, I showed her that her 5 pesos won't work. She confirmed and I further explained that refunding me will not fix the issue and they'll end up losing a lot of money from spare coins from their own pockets as refunds if nothing is done. I demanded for them to contact the person responsible for the device AND put an "out of order" signage to prevent people from experiencing the same thing, at least doing the latter before I leave. Let's hope this incident has impacted the cashier at the time that manning a store isn't just about receiving payments at the cashier and organizing merchandise. It's also about effective customer service.
