Coron Gateway Hotel and Suites

The staff are very accommodating I.love the ambiance..

The location is excellent. It is by the water - although you can't swim here. The views of the bay with mountains in the background is postcard perfect. Watch the sun set from the common balcony. There is no room service if you crave for something to eat. Let the front desk know if you need housekeeping, it's not automatic. There is air conditoning and continuous hot water. An in-room safe is a bonus. You can book all your tours at the front desk as well as your transportation to the airport. All the notable restaurants, restobars and markets are just steps away, as are the tour boats. The hotel itself could use a facelift in general but it is clean and good overall. There is no elevator and not quite accessible for the physically challenged. The rooms are spacious. The friendliness and helpfullness of the staff make up for what the building may be lacking. I give it a high 3 stars because of the location and the staff, otherwise a low-3 star hotel. Don't sweat the little things here, just enjoy and have a wonderful time!

Tub is dirty. Bathroom floor has leaks and creates a puddle. Bed sheets don't seem like new. Aircon's dripping with water. There's ants. Remote controls are not sanitized. Carpet is dusty. Actually everything is dusty. Place could be great, only if they maintained rooms/service well.

Pros; -central location - comfortable bed -nice view - decent A/C Cons; -hotel is now very dated to what pictures advertise (lots of cosmetic upgrading needed to carpets, walls etc) -WiFi almost non existent on 3rd floor (we have moved to Sanho Pension 1/3 of price and WiFi is excellent with breakfast included) -balcony unusable due to poorly located a/c espousing hot air -water very unreliable (again haven't had these issues across the road) All in all go on agoda and get something better for less coin
