May 19, 2017 The Tourism Officer Vigan City, Ilocos Sur Dear Sir/Madam, It was always my dream to visit the historic place of Vigan. Last April my family and I decided to spend our vacation in Vigan City. We searched the internet for hotels and had chosen Casa Rica Hotel as our place to stay. Days before we left I called to confirm our reservation and asked for a city tour. I received a positive reply from the person who answered the phone, assuring us of our reservation. After a long trip, it was already past nine o’clock in the evening we finally arrived Vigan City on April 27, 2017. To our dismay our reservation was cancelled. According to the receptionist they had overbooked the online reservation and we will be transferred to another hotel. The Hotel owner arrived telling us that we did not have reservation. There was inconsistency between the receptionist and the Hotel owner because I insisted that I called the Hotel and confirmed our reservation before we left Negros Occidental. We were thankful that in spite of the arrogance of the owner of Casa Rica Hotel, there were local residents especially the tricycle driver who helped us look for another hotel. We reported the incident to the Police for record purposes. Our doubts were confirmed and the lies of the Casa Rica Hotel owner were proven when the Booking Agency send us an email that Casa Rica Hotel had reported to them that our reservation was a “no show”. She is a liar denying our reservation, she can be a factor of destroying the image of your good City especially the tourism industry. Our visit to your place was really educational and enjoyable. We are only frustrated with our painful experience with the Owner of the Casa Rica Hotel that she had also done with some hotel guests based on their hotel review. I hope that it will not happen again to other guests who will be visiting your place. Thank you very much and I hope that you will help the tourist to find a “home” in your place.
