As a parent of a Nursing student, I have been silent while watching my daughter study and work on the requirements really hard. I've watched her skip meals because the quizzes and exams are scheduled without any particular rhyme or reason. I've watched her say no to opportunities to reconnect with cousins because the school work she has to complete is so heavy and stressful. I've watched her take meals in front of her laptop because of class session that defy reason - meal times, Saturdays, Sundays that these instructors/professors/teachers schedule without any apparent consideration to the student's welfare at all. I've watched her transform from such a happy human being to this unrecognizable stressed out person with dark shadows below her eyes. But she and I talked about it and this amazing daughter of mine assured me that she's strong to endure it all. I can't do anything but stand in the sidelines and support her as best as I can. Today, though, I found out that a quiz has been scheduled for 5pm on December 24 and exams on December 27 which simply means that my daughter will most likely not appreciate what Christmas is and will once again study like a mule during the supposedly season of love and hope. A season to be happy and thankful. And I say ENOUGH is ENOUGH! To whoever this may concern in the University of Cebu - Nursing Department or perhaps the whole university for that matter, DON'T YOU PEOPLE HAVE HEARTS? I understand that the online class is something new for all of us and I understand too that we all have adjustments to make but this is plainly abusive! None of your protocols have been reasonable. The instructors seem to be wielding the baton at their own pleasure and convenience. ENOUGH! On top of this abusive protocols or more accurately the absence of reasonable ones, the tuition fee is unbelievably high (no difference with the fees when they had regular physical classes) considering that the university is no longer paying for utilities like electricity, water etc. Parents have to pay for laboratory fees when the students are not able to physically do lab work. I won't speak for other parents but I know that this is something that been raised to the University's management. Raised but fell on deaf ears. A complaint lodged at CHED and the Office of the President might help at this stage and could be the only option! ***want to point out that we tried posting on their FB page thrice. But they just deleted it without an acknowledgment.

This University is one of the top 10 in the Philippines. It offers Juris Doctor and LLB programs with night class schedules from 6 PM to 10 PM on six days each week. Professors may set schedules on other hours of the day.

Well...I asked the registrar for help. Sadly she didn’t extend her help on me on my concern just to clarify what is my end of date with UC banilad. I didn’t bring my copy of my tor form so I sought help if ever they can provide me that. I only got a “it’s in the second page, sir.” Answer and then when I arrived home on my desk, I still can’t see a specific date on the second and third and so on pages. It wasn’t a good service at all. And lastly, her tone was kind of irritated to the point I feel embarrased I asked for that date only. So much for helping...
