Gold's Gym

Great place to get a workout. Its weekday closing time of midnight (9:00 p.m. on weekends) is perfect for an office worker like me to use a workout to ease away the day's tensions, aside, of course, from getting exercise. A wide selection of Gatorade flavors and variants is available for that all-important hydration. It's the smallest of all the Gold's that I've been to, and it shows in the only drawback that kept me from giving it 5 stars — the limited equipment. There are standard basics – various benches, a squat rack – plus some specialized machines for pressing and curling. But two pieces of equipment that I consider to be a gym sine qua non, those for lat pulldowns and seated rows, are missing. There's this fancy multifunction machine with pulley systems that are used for various rows and lifts, and it's the best you can do for pulldowns and seated rows. But the workarounds are awkward. But I saved the best for last; this branch has, hands down, the best locker room of all the Gold's I've been to. It's spacious, well laid out, and the showers are a mix of overhead and hose. The lockers themselves are spacious as well, have vents, and have a separate section at the bottom for shoes, so you don't have to go piling your clothes on them. All in all, I highly recommend this place for overcoming our sedentary urban existence.

Everyone wants to be a member here... although at a high price.
