Cariño House and Candon City Museum

Restored by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and turned over to the local government of Candon to serve as a City Museum, this heritage house belonged to the Carino Family which includes Filipino heroine Gabriela Carino Silang as one of its notable members. It has a beautiful history tree that showcases important events in their local history. I hope that it will be fully functional on my next visit.

Newly restored ancestral home of Gabriela Silang turned into a museum. The house is beautiful. I particularly like the painted ceiling and walls. There aren't that many items on display. And not all exhibits, as one would expect, are about Gabriela Silang and her family. Got a brochure stating that the restoration is only on its first phase. Curious about what the next phase will bring. The phamplets, near the museum entrance, of other places to see and places to eat in Candon are a nice touch. blog - rainbowjournal . com
