For two years now I’ve been coming here mainly for bracelets and feng shui items. The bead bracelets at this shop are beautiful and reasonably priced. The quality of the stones used for the beads is excellent. I recently bought fabulous lapis lazuli cabochon rings, and aquamarine bracelets. The aquamarines were lovely, translucent — with that ideal sky blue, as opposed to somewhat murky looking stuff. Previously, I bought amethysts, and they didn’t have many of those intrusions that create uneven colors. I feel this place has a word-of-mouth reputation among foreign tourists (Indian, Australian, French) coz I often see them here. I think it’s because there are a number of figurines made of high-grade jade, agate, and malachite. Those types of things are costly, but there are smaller items are worth getting. Of course I rarely buy the expensive sort. Yet for someone like me, who is content to assemble tumble stones in bowls or pouches, this spot has a lot to offer. There are even rare finds. The stuff doesn’t stay too long because the tiny-looking place also supplies other businesses in malls and similar crystal establishments in the metro. The bonus at this shop? The owners of Feng Shui Charms and Crystal Shop, as well as its assistants, are kind, friendly, and accommodating. Shopping here is more pleasant than in other shops nearby (except maybe for Nafu next door). It is a different experience, for instance, from a famed shop (near a hotel buffet) with its grumpy attendants. You know the kind — they act like they’re sizing you up whenever you ask to inspect an object behind glass. That is not the case with this shop. In fact, if you ask the guy who owns Feng Shui Charms questions, you’ll find him to be very knowledgeable — he is eager to talk especially about the significance of objects related to Buddhism. But it is his wife who went through feng shui training in Malaysia — so you should consult about pieces you may want to use to improve your mojo. In terms of the feng shui cures for home or office, there is a wide variety of items, ranging from the inexpensive to the pricey, really gorgeous crystal pieces. The key chains and Buddha metal cards are very affordable but they don’t look tacky. The jades and malachites and agate figuring look amazing—things to save up for and aspire to own. I love coming to this shop on weekends, even just to pick up a tumble stone or two, or check out new arrivals.
