Memorare - Manila 1945

This memorial is dedicated to all those innocent victims of war, many of whom went nameless and unknown to a common grave, or never even knew a grave at all, their bodies having been consumed by fire or crushed to dust beneath the rubble of ruins. Let this monument be a gravestone for each and every one of the over 100,000 men, women, children and infants killed in Manila during its battle of liberation, Feb. 3 to March 3, 1945. We have never forgotten them. Nor shall we ever forget. May they rest in peace as part now of the sacred ground of this city: The Manila of our affection February 18, 1995

Can’t fully explain why, but this small monument was one of the highlights for us. Probably because it is often missed or disregarded and not widely known. The Memorare Manila 1945 monument commemorates the innocent lives lost (especially women and children as is the focus of the sculpture) during the emancipatory war waged on Imperial Japanese troops in, 1945.

A monument in the memory of those who died during war in 1945. It is located at the back of San Agustin Church, near parking space. There's steps infront to sit and relax. Not accessible friendly ♿🚫

This monument stands near to San Agustin Church, very nice experience. For relaxation, sitting space is also available. Must Visit!!

A beautiful monument erected in the memory of the many innocent victims of the Battle of Manila in 1945. The square is nice and well kept by the local authorities.
