Naga Cathedral

Yes, beauty at its finest. I love the trompe l'oeil paintings. Very historical and unique. My only concern is that the cathedral is painted black. Not that pleasing to the eye but the grand interior would push you to prayer.

Don't judge the book by its cover. It applies when you entered the grounds of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. But when you stepped inside, every worries, anxieties, stress, and fears are casted away. The al fresco paintings are sights to behold, the church pews are formidable chairs of stability, and the high altar signifies the most and ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the sake of the humankind, especially to Nagueños flocking here to pray. The Porta Mariae reminds us all of the majestic role of Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia's role in building the Great City of Naga from a sleepy and remote town of Bicolandia. The Marian Dome is where the Our Lady is being placed for its Novena and Fiesta Masses annually, before the Pandemic has stricken our lives. May Mother Mary guide and lead us to where we should go, so as to bring this worst crisis of our lives to an imperative end. Amen.
