This school has everything for me . the teacher are really hardworking for their students they will really help you. They have a special education for special children
In the early years in Barangay Perez, very few children were able to attend school. This is because the place was too distant from the town proper where most schools can be found. In addition, transportation was a major problem. People had to walk for quite a number of kilometers in order to reach the nearest school. Sacrifice for them was a real-time investment to be able to reach their dreams. Until, groups of parents had decided to approach the district supervisor to air their dilemma which has been causing their children hindrance to success. During this time, Meycauayan East and West, Marilao and Bocaue stood as only one district. With consolidated effort and full dedication, the parents’ plea was taken into account. With the help of the then Mayor Hermogenes Lim, a school building was built at Barangay Perez in1934 through “Bayanihan System” within the donated lot area of 5,000 sq.m. Thus, opening the door to an array of opportunities marked the start of milestones ahead.
However, after the Japanese colonization, the School of Barangay Perez started to thrive. In 1944, there was solely one teacher, but through his enthusiasm he was able to teach Grade I and II.
In spite of this, significant changes happened in between. In 1972, a three-classroom RP-US building was built through the effort of the then Governor Nancing Santiago.
Continuing success and pursuit for quality education push through. The school was a complete elementary school at the onset of S.Y. 1991-1992 with five teachers including Mrs. Emelita H. Chu, appointed as teacher-in-charge by Dr. Melita Dionisio. After four months, Mrs. Estelita L. Bautista took over the said position. From the year it started as a complete elementary, it became a fast growing progressive school. It ranked ninth (9th) in terms of population in the whole district.
In 1999, Mrs. Corazon M. Lucas was assigned to lead the school as Principal I. Through hard work, dedication, and joint effort amongst the principal, teachers and district supervisor, the number of teaching staff amazingly propagated from sixteen (16) to 34 elementary teachers and three
(3) pre-elementary teachers to date. The simultaneous increase in pupil population and number of teachers has compelled the establishment of a number of school buildings, each classroom utilizing its own comfort room. The school is now fast improving with regard to its physical plant and facilities through the support given by the City Mayor Joan V. Alarilla. Moreover, the school is also noted for its remarkable performance in the many academic contests and extra-curricular engagements.
At present, among the fifteen (15) elementary schools in the District of Meycauayan East, Perez Elementary School ranks third (3rd) with regard to student population.
