One of the store that offers the best tasting pinangat in town. Pinangat is a specialty dish from Camalig Albay, made from taro leaves and cooked in coconut milk. As pasalubong you should buy the frozen pinangat. Speaking of pasalubong you can also find the best pilinut candies in the Bicol region at Noveno’s Pilinut Candies just beside Kamalignon. They offer a wide selections of very delicious pilinut candies at the lowest price. So if your’e planning to visit Bicol don’t forget your pinangat and pilinut as your pasalubong, Im sure your family and friends will surely enjoy.

ever have anyone tell you that the best food would usually come from the most unassuming places? well, that is true in this case. Kamalignon is the best if not one of the best places to get the local delicacy called "Pinangat". for those of you who have yet to experience what the meal is, Pinangat is young taro leaves cooked in coconut milk until tender and creamy, which actually is one of the hallmarks of a good Pinangat. you can have it either in spicy, "maarang" in the local tongue, or plain old not spicy. they usually have freshly cooked Pinangat in the morning's until late afternoons, if you want to be able to eat it as soon as you get home, or if you are traveling, you can get it frozen, to keep it fresh. just nuke it in the microwave when ready to eat. they also accept orders, if you plan on buying in bulk, just make sure to give them a call at least a day before. they also sell another town delicacy called "Inulokan", this time it is young coconut meat and land crabs (ulok), wrapped in taro leaves, spiced with lemon grass and again cooked in freshly squeezed coconut milk. though not sold regularly, due to the scarcity of the crabs, you can always ask if they have it. if you are traveling north-bound from Legazpi, Kamalignon would be on the left side of the road right after the Kamalig Museum and Art Gallery, just keep an eye out or you might miss it, the sign is not that big.
