Dear Travallure (11/04/2020)
This fort was initially completed in 1594 and was intended to overlook the Manila bay. Its size and strength eventually became a symbol for the power of Spanish rule – however it was invaded and briefly controlled by the British from 1762. The 3 concentric circles, intended to provide a maze-like mystery have become an iconic national treasure of the country. Don’t forget to also walk around the gardens and read up on the history! In mid-2019, we paid 75 pesos as an entrance fee.

This historical landmark is a great teacher for everyone who wants to learn about what happened in the past. The war, the popular leaders and some kind or defensive structures and etc; but some of the former leaders of the Republic of the Philippines don't have there own 2D carved picture. I think it could be under maintenance of something.

Very beautiful, I recommend if you are visiting to take a look, explore a bit.

Due to government restrictions, this place is still closed. Hopefully, this will be opened by February according to locals.

I came across this place by chance, having refused the overpriced tricycle tours numerous times, there is an admission fee which amounts to less than two dollars Canadian. But it is so worth it because inside you get to enjoy a beautiful garden, as well as a massive field where you can sit and enjoy at the second level. It’s perfect to relax to when there’s a breeze, from there you’ll also get to see the infamous Manila photo bomber.
