Malintik Route Makulilis (The Cross)

The first summit ascent of Makulilis Rockies was in February 8, 2014 by “The Cross” Henri de Belen Linga from Bantauyan, Boac and his cousin Frederick Labay Linga from Balagasan, Boac. They are both former member of “Batingaw ng Kalikasan” a local group in Marinduque founded by Dr. Panchito Labay of Marinduque State College. The length of their exploration was three days, their jump off were in DENR Nursery. After their first attempt that leads to successful summit ascent The Cross continues their exploration of the Makulilis Rockies. Since Makulilis offers the “The Cross” a great adventure they named the route “Malintik Route” after the mountains name “Malindig” and the category of the route. It is the same route being used nowadays by trekkers who wants see the majestic beauty of this side of Malindig. The highlight of The Cross Exploration were the ridge of the rockies, the ascent and descent of the Makulilis crag/wall in 2016.
