Sol y Mar Beach Resort

Food is nothing special, our 2 rice platters were served noticeably dry (lagdos), but we didn't mind, due to the long waiting time when you have to order. The place is also decent, its just that, it looks not very well maintained. Staffs are somewhat warm, and friendly but they never check up on you if you need anything else. The beach is also your typical Iloilo beach, nothing special. If you're looking for a much more of a swimming experience try going out of town. But still you can opt for these kinds of resorts here. Sol y mar is fine when you're looking for somewhere peaceful, and somehow budget friendly chill sessions by the beach. Pro tip: when going here with family, or a bunch of friends... don't get set meals as it will cost you more, and with lesser portions. Order main dishes then rice platters. Don't hesitate to follow up your orders as it really takes time for them to serve your orders. You can also order in advance so that you can save time, and skip the hassle of waiting for food while hungry.

I love having coffee here.. but recently, they implemented this entrance fee/minimum order thing of ₱200 per person. We just want to drink coffee. Like okay, we need to pay an entrance fee with Jollibee to eat or drink there.

Sol y Mar has come a long way from being a humble resort. There are various amenities you can now enjoy, ranging from overnight cottages that have private dipping pools, a pavilion, a restaurant that offers a wide range of food choices, the sprawling expanse of beach, and their newest addition, the Funtalan (in photos), a beachside deck of three small cottages that have couches and low-lying tables great for chilling from the afternoon heat, dinner, or drinks. No food or drinks are allowed to be brought into the resort, but the prices for cottages are consumable. Every peso is worth the visit!

This place is so peaceful, you can chill with no worries, you can have a meeting or outing with family and barkada. Mostly is nice for kids because the surroundings are wide enough to roam around, they have affordable foods, i really recommend this place.

Customer service is poor. Foods are nothing special and it is quite expensive. Their Staffs are not that accomodating especially those who were assigned at their so called Restaurant. The place is peaceful. The beach is just an ordinary heach nothing remarkable.
