Buhatan River Eco Adventure

Within the bustling life in the city, Buhatan River Eco-Adventure is one of the exciting and unforgettable things to do. Exploring the place while kayaking or hop in a floating cottage while enjoying their gastronomic offering and traversing the five (5) kilometer river beginning from a local tourism post down to Sorsogon Bay Area. Firefly watching is also a must do activity with the night cruise offered by the place. The best thing about this experience is the dedicated and united locals in the community who perfectly accommodate and take good care of our guests.

Definitely worthwhile. The boat holds 10 people for 3000 php, we were only but 2 so they charged us 2500 php. Still worth it, 3 hours with crew of 4. You want to go around 4/430 so you get through the river to the bay for sunset, then stop at their deckhouse before back up the river when it's dark to see the fireflies. There weren't huge numbers of fireflies but certainly lots of trees with dozens. We were early in the season, February, they said more to see in summer. Beautiful river, Beautiful sunset, Bathroom at the deckhouse Dozens of fireflies. We didn't have the dinner but grabbed a few beers at the shop across the bridge before we started. Easy 5 stars.

Amazing scenery along the river and the sunset views left us in awe. The community also ended our visit with lanterns to welcome us back to shore. All in all a wonderful experience.

This is one of the best value and memorable experience in Sorsogon! The cruise is operated by a community-run cooperative, so your money goes towards providing for the daily needs and enriching the lives of the families of the staff and crew. It's a very relaxing 30-minute cruise to their floating restaurant where you can relax, have a meal, or paddle on a kayak. At night, you can see thousands of fireflies lighting up the trees lining the banks of the river.
