Ulo Ulo sa Tunasan

A restaurant across Pepsi-Cola’s main plant in Tunasan, Muntinlupa. As the name implies, their specialty is the sinigang na ulo-ulo, but they also serve other Filipino standards, like pares and tapsilog. They also have various meals of the day laid out on the counter that you can choose from. In essence, this makes them like the famous roadside turo-turos, but in a clean, bright restaurant setting. They’ve been open just 2-3 days as I write this, so expect some process glitches, but things should be settled down if you’re reading this after a few months. Most importantly, the food is good. But I haven’t tried their specialties yet, opting for what was available at the counter, since I was in a hurry to have dinner and go home. Note to foreign readers: “Ulo” is the Filipino word for head. The sinigang na ulo-ulo is a sour soup made with a fish head, usually a large one from a salmon or tuna.
