Sinking Bell Tower

Located at the heart of Laoag City, it's one of the places you need to drop by and take photos.

The sinking Bell tower is a tourist site at Laoag in Ilocos Norte. It is similar to a lot of other Bell towers built during the Spanish colonization era of the Philippines. It's made of brick and has an underground entrance. Tourists aren't allowed to go inside. The ground on which it is built on is soft which causes the tower to slowly sink every year.

Its good to come here by morning, you will see the beauty of its structure

The tower is very old. I'm not sure what the purpose of the tower if it used as the bell of the church since it is more than 100 meters away or it was used to monitor the area during that time, like the Bantay bell that serve as a watch tower for pirates before. It has a good design that can capture your attention when you were passing.

Cool feature that could use a bit more love and attention. I enjoy seeing it and would love to have a better place to take pics, read about the building ETC. Just a busy area but a beautiful sight to see.
