the collection of artifacts here are really powerful. it looks old and amazing. there is also a small tunnel outside the museum, sowing how old this one is. good this that they had it saved.

Interesting display of the Bacarra history. The bell tower looks amazing! Everyone was very accommodating. Enjoyed our tour here a lot!

Historic collection by local community in a restored section of a former convent. Worth a stop if passing through town; admission only 20 PHP. Near the picturesque domeless bell tower.

The museum is a local and smaller version of the popular lifestyle museum in Intramuros, the Casa Manila Museum. Museo de Bacarra showcases antique furniture, home and office items, religious art and objects from the Spanish colonial period up to post World War 2. The museum is housed in an old building adjacent to the church. The tour covers three well-planned areas at the ground floor and a quick visit in an unkept garden behind the museum building. Here we were showed the entrance to an underground tunnel that was used as an escape route during the years of the revolution and WW2. Small things made a visit to Museo de Bacarra worth the time and effort. Our local volunteer guide's enthusiasm and knowledge on local history, customs and traditions made our visit truly enjoyable. The entrance fee was surprisingly inexpensive at P20 per person and finding parking was a breeze. The museum has an expansive parking area within the St. Andrew Parish church complex so parking was quick and easy. Visit the museum to appreciate and understand local Ilocano culture and history. It is even better than another more popular museum whose main attraction is a mere wax figure. :-)
