The St. Williams Metropolitant cathedral is simple. The main altar has less decoration. The church building is huge. The facade is white im not sure if it was the original color or been painted. I arrived in the area early morning, I didn't see the lightning during night that might add vibrant of the church.

Located beside the historical sinking tower. You must visit this place on Sundays before visiting the public market. Mass can be in ilocano, Tagalog or English depending on the time of the day. Please be respectful when visiting by observing peace/quiet, wearing proper clothes and avoid littering

The cathedral is known for its Italian Renaissance design and is famous for its "Sinking Bell Tower", a baroque style structure both of which are built during the Spanish colonial period. This historical and heritage site that the Ilocanos should be proud of are unfortunately showing signs of decay and years of neglect. The facade of the church is now a parking lot and utility lines which should have been kept underground is an eye sore. The added chaos brought by illegal parking, vendors, tarpaulins and tricycles are ruining the supposed picturesque view of this old and magnificent structure. This is our heritage and it should be kept preserved and maintained for the generations to see.

Been visiting the Cathedral almost everyday now since I started working nearby. Amazing view of the Sinking Belltower and lots of food places around. More importantly, a solemn place of prayer for everyone.
