The Dive House

My family and I had a great time here with our intro dive. The place caters exclusively to divers and so it's not widely promoted and may be difficult to find. But that in itself is a good thing because the venue is quiet and peaceful and laid back. When you're done with the dive you can sit around and just bask in the tranquility. They don't formally have a restaurant, but if you ask in advance the kitchen help can prepare some food for you at extra cost. Or you can haul in your own food and set up a picnic at one of the many tables and pergolas. I noticed one of the guests pouring coffee from a French press I presume she brought along with her. As for the diving, the instructors were capable and articulate and we felt we were in good hands all throughout. The water was perfect for beginners like us -- not too deep, not too crowded by corals so that we weren't scared about getting scratched while we wended our way around the area. But there was just enough life to make it very interesting. Oh, and there was a sea snake. The water was crystal clear during our dive, although the instructor did mention that it could get cloudy when there's bad weather. We look forward to coming back for more leisurely dives and perhaps to getting ourselves certified.

Best of the best of the best. Reccomend to everyone I know. A great place to stay for the weekend to get away from the city life and discover variety of skills taught by their very own and very best instructors and workers.

I came back to the Dive House because I knew the diving would be great, and it was. I also brought my girlfriend so she could get certified, Mike was her instructor and was a very patient instructor and did a great job working with her. I dove with another instructor Harris, fantastic guy and was a pleasure to dive with, made sure to always point out anything that I may have missed. Very much enjoy diving with him. The food was fantastic and always more than we could eat, great choices each day with very tasty dishes. Since I have purchased the dive training for my girlfriend I was given a rate by the manager for the additional charge for me to stay there and dive while my girlfriend was certified, what I did not expect was to be triple charged at the end of my stay. The manager seemed to enjoy dropping this bomb on me at the end, I paid what he asked. I also noted that while each night he consumed many drinks that I can only guess were there for the guest, and was very loud at night. But he could not provide the basics for the room such as toilet paper. I had also asked for a soft drink after a dive and was told they don’t have any and would have to send someone out to get them. I went back to drinking the water I had brought only a short time later watching his son drinking the soft drink I had requested. Also it seems that the managers friends get to dive, eat, drink, and stay for free while I was paying three times what I was told. Maybe because I came from the US has something to do with it. The accommodation are nothing special for the rate charged, I was at another resort just days before where the accommodation were so much nicer for the same price, but came here because the dive instructor no showed on me. Over all I like the place and the diving, a decent manager would make the stay more enjoyable.

The diving at Nogas island is surprisingly very good. Healthy coral remains with decent profusion of marine life. Diving is best booked as a package, food is very good but that and accommodation are a little pricey.
