The teachers and staff are kind and good! It is a good choice for learning English!
Hi, my name is Hung Chun Kuo, I come from Taiwan with my wife and 2 kids. Unlike most of the students, I’m staying here in HANA academy for only a week. While my family are focusing on their English studies, I am focusing more on knowing how the academy works, what environment my family is living in and what education they are taking. Like teacher Loida said, “I’m here to experience.”
After staying for a few days, I found the environment in HANA academy is clean and comfortable. The dormitory reminds me my school days decades ago, however, room cleaning and laundry services twice a week making It more comfortable than what I had when I was a student in college. The food in the cafeteria is good. Apparently, the meals everyday are Korean style and it’s fine to us. We have Korean food often in Taiwan, too. What we like the most in the Academy is the swimming pool. My kids and I had a lot of fun.
In the 1:1 class that I took, I found it very interesting that I can learn many things about Philippines by chatting with the teachers. Before coming here, I didn’t know anything about Philippines, and this is the first time that I visit this country. I have been to many countries in the world such as Japan, Korea, Sweden, Italy, Germany…and so on. The experience this time in Philippines is quite different because I usually don’t have that much chance to talk to the local people, and even I do, we don’t talk as deep as this time here. With the teachers we talked about territory of Philippines, languages, food, traffic, pollutions, crimes, social benefit, family values and even politics. This is the experience that I don’t usually have in comparison with traveling in other countries, which is amazing.
During the 1:1 class I didn’t use the textbooks provided to me because I’m only taking class for 4 days. The second reason is that the teacher thinks it’s too easy to me. But it doesn’t mean that I have learned nothing in terms of English study. On the contrary, other than chatting, the grammar taught by teacher Phil, the phrasal verb taught by teacher Ted and the vocabulary taught by teacher PJ are all very useful and impressive to me. I’m sure that I can improve my English more if I stay longer. Unfortunately, I must leave sooner than my family does because my job doesn’t allow me to stay that long.
I really hope that my family can improve their English skills in such kind of English-speaking environment, which we don’t have in Taiwan. It would be helpful for my wife’s career if her English skill can be improved. For the fact that Taiwan being such a small island, our children must go out of the country and explore the world to achieve various goals. My expectation is for my children to get along with students from other countries, to develop broader view of being part of the global village and to learn their knowledge internationally. After these days I can see that HANA academy is a good choice we made, and hopefully they can find learning English helpful and interesting during their staying.
I attended the English program with my two kids (10,11) later August 2019 for two weeks. I was looking for a program which is fun and not too strict so that my kids would like to enjoy speaking and learning English.
Teaching- 5 stars
Teachers here were dedicated to teach and fun. The native English speaking teacher and Filipino teacher ratio is comparatively high to other schools. Teachers were flexible and accommodating to your level and area s of English studying which you want to improve.
Meals- 4 stars
Meals provided were basic. Dinning environment is clean and staffs are friendly. Part of kitchen area is open for people who wish to do simple cooking. but we didn't use it.
Location 4.5 stars
Clark International airport is 20 mins by car.
there is a direct flight from Narita Japan to Clark.
A big supermarket is around the corner where you can get most of necessities.
There are many restaurants nearby and shopping malls are only a few kilometers away.
Pool 5 stars
The pool was very well maintained. my boys enjoyed playing in the pool everyday after a day of studying.
Dormitory-3 stars
Dormitory room we got was dark and dusty. The bathroom/ shower facilities need to be upgraded. And the mattress was too hard for my back.
I talked to the school principle about the above issues and he is well aware of the situations and is planning on improving them.
House keeping staff were really friendly. They came and clean our room / laundry twice a week. if you need anything, ask kindly and they are willing to help.
Normally, school organizes outing for the weekend, but when we visited, it was the raining season and the trips were cancelled.
All and all, i feel the money and time is very well spent, kids had fun, and speaking improved a lot!
The Teachers and staff are very nice and helpful, they support me alot.
The Swimming pool is large and clean.
My English has improved alot.
I enjoy the time i spent here
Thank you so much!!!

The teachers and classmates are very friendly, and the environment is very beautiful. The school has an abundance of flowers and trees, giving everyone a sense of sobriety with nature.
