Ruby's Place

We Found Rubys Place Amadeo on AirBnB. As the rest of Phillipines - We were in Lockdown because of Covid19. Wanting to stay safe and away from people, we wanted a place for ourselves. We wanted a a nice clean place with min 2 bedrooms and a pool. We did a search online and found the the Facebook page. We inquired through messanger with some questions. Everything sounded great. We were told we could book direct. Preferring to book through a 3rd party booking agency as knowing if any problems it normally gets sorted. we tried to book on AirBnb. We found it was not available. We contacted again and were told only available if we booked direct . So we did and paid 50% (Our biggest mistake). On the day of our booking we drove to Ruby`s Place. When we arrived the fist thing we noticed was the pool and spa were empty. What a BIG disapiontment. Then we entered the house. First impression was good. There was a large open living area. Then we went to the loft expecting to find 3 bedrooms . Instead we found one large room with 7 double decker beds and 3 futon type beds. Our son and his girlfriend were not happy to have to share a room when the add said 3 bedrooms. We had a look around and noticed the 2 rundown very smelly bathrooms.(with no hot water). And a dodgy kitchen. That night we kept hearing strange sounds. In the morning we noticed rats had eaten at the food that was left out. They had eaten through the the plastic of loaves of bread. We decided to voice our concerns through messenger. That evening there was a knock at the door. It was the owners . We told them about the pool and they said we could use the pool access the road where they were staying. It was a tiny pool connected to a room where others were staying. It was not convenient. No privacy . We showed them the add with 3 bedrooms and they said they would change it . They said sorry and said they had some playing cards because we had no pool. Anyway we left the house as long as we could and purchased meats so we could have BBQ instead of using the kitchen. We decided to try and find a driver to leave. That was impossible. So we organized our Manila driver who was in his provence to come and pick us up as soon as he could. The last night was a very very long night. Rats running around downstairs. We contacted owners by message and told them we would leave . No reply, no apology, refund for unused paid time. Overall a very unpleasant experience. I wil say the 2 staff members there were helpful with internet when it kept going down and would get charcole when ever we needed to use BBQ. It may also be ok for a function if you are allowed to bring outside caterers . But definatly not to stay. If you do want to stay. Book through a third party booking agency who can deal with the unhelpful management and owners. My advice to anyone wanting to stay book through a booking agancy who can deal withcthe unhelpful management and owner's
