Place is relaxing but quite difficult to go if you have big car.

The way there is terribly exhausting. Partly concreted, partly tarred, partly natural soil with deep furrows. I’m going there in two, on a Honda 250. Alone not a problem, but not for wimps or people with physical limitations. The view on the way there is wonderful. The Mapanuepelake was created by the eruption of the Pinatubo in 1991. Here, 13 km away from Pinatubo, the layer of ash was up to 40 meters high. In Olongapo, the ashes piled up to 4m on the roofs.

Today we did another tour: About 30km from Barrio Barretto in the middle of the jungle. On a mountain then to a lake (Mapanuepe Lake) that was created in 1991 by a volcanic eruption nearby and a strong earthquake. Where the lake is now there used to be a village, only the church spire peeps out of the water. I drove over to the boat from the natives. It was cool and incredible at the same time. ud83dude0aud83dude0aud83dude0a If you make your way and go there, it is definitely worth it. Just the way up to the mountain and the view is worth it. If you want to go over to the church spire, no problem for 150php the indigenous people will bring you over there.
