Mt. Tagapo

Easy hike to the summit. And if you visit on a good weather, you'll see an interesting view of the Metro Manila area.

Hiking Mt. Tagapo is a unique experience by itself. I have not made that much of summits, but I can say that hiking Tagapo is not easily on the same level of experience with any of the mountain I've hiked to date. I wish there'd be more tree-planting and clean-up activities to take place here. And I'm not just talking about the hikers that go there to summit this island peak. No, I'm looking at the locals themselves. I don't want them to get lost with the idea that they could just rely on external efforts to try on keeping the place clean. If anything, they should be the first ones to realize how impactful it is to have their place clean and green, at all times. And not just because people go there to hike, no. Oh, also, don't be like me and my friend, Feb, who summits at noontime just to say we could have the peak to ourselves for nice photos. Because we're young. We're daredevils. We're stupid like that. We went home with sunburns.

Best place to relax

Its good for beginners. The peak will give you a relaxing view of the whole island. It's surrounded by grasses with white cotton-like flowers which bloom by the month of August to -ber months. Unwind and smell the nature's aroma. You can also build your tent on the designated sites for campers. If you wish to stay there over night to watch the sunrise and sunset view, inform the guide before hand. You will definitely enjoy this hike. Bring enough water and bring your trash home. Prepare also insect repellent lotion when you hike during rainy seasons. Always remember to respect the nature.
