Manilay Ancestral House

Very informative and must see place in Gensan. The architecture, furniture and antiques are a treat for history fan. They also have unique creatures to see like a wild boar and monkeys. The tour guide has a lot of knowledge about the place that he was happy to share with us.

Old house that was transported and rebuilt here brick by brick. Lots of amazing antique objects and fixtures are on display for one to marvel. There is also a collection of old cars and bikes. Place comes alive at Halloween when ghouls, fantasy characters, monsters and anime characters converge for the costume contest. Place is available for private functions.

Its great that the Manilays reconstructed their ancestral house in Gen.Santos City. All of the furnishings, fixtures, utilities and cars of the family had been well preserved and restored.However, it is not in anyway accessible to persons with disabilities unless they are manually lifted. There are no ramps. The nearest that a disabled person can go to are the steps in front of the house. Nevertheless, abled bodied persons especially local tourists will appreciate the house as it reflects the past homes of rich filipinos. Its a must-visit place in the city for the abled-bodied
