Hippocampus Beach Resort

Best place on earth. Well, at least one of the candidates. So chilled vibe, friendly staff and overall just a great place. Best location (IMO), and breathtaking views of the ocean as you dine of breakfast on the beach. 6 out of 5 stars from me!

We feel lucky choosing this hotel over others on the island. The food from the hotel restaurant (it's just along the beach) turns out to be one of the better options. The breakfast is also pretty good. Rooms are basic and water pressure is low, but I don't think these will be better anywhere else on the island. No wifi in the rooms but cell tower on the island is super fast and we used our local SIM card.

A very good place to relax and unwind. Clean rooms, accomodating staff, good food and the shoreline is just a few steps away from your room. Definitely coming back here with more bag of memories.

Located on the beach this is a nice bar in the evening with a good atmosphere. I ate here twice and the food is excellent. Very tasty and good value. Beer is around 75 pesos for a bottle of San Miguel pilsner. The staff are nice and friendly as well. They accept credit xards with a 5% surcharge.

Food swimming in oil, staff don't care, didn't even want to serve us for kayaks/paddleboards. Only thing that's good is the view. Eat somewhere else, we tried three menu items and even the vegetarian was basically oil with noodles in it. No idea how there's a functioning hotel here.
