My mother was admitted to FUMC on 12/2/2020 at around 2130H with a diagnosis of a stroke. Implementation of treatment in a timely manner is very crucial with this diagnosis. Your physician talked to me and the first question she asked was if I was fine to pay for medication worth 80K Pesos. I am not familiar with your hospital policy, however, savings someone's life should be a the primary goal of every medical institution. Fortunately, I can afford that amount and TPA was given to my mother in the Emergency Room. Rapid Covid swab test was done with a negative results, however a questionable Chest X-Ray result for covid was seen according to your physician and CT chest is recommended in order for my mother to be admitted in a Non Covid ICU. She was then transferred to Intensive Care Unit the next day. On her second day I got a call from my niece that my mother might be transferred to the Covid ICU because the CT chest result is not yet available. This doesn't make sense at all because I talked to the Resident on duty on that day for the reason why my mother needed to be transferred to the Covid unit and she told me it was because a CT chest result is not available, which is ridiculous answer. Then she told me that my mother had another bleed that was one of the side effects of TPA and she might need a craniotomy to remove the bleeding. Eventually the wrong information was given to me by your Resident physician. While my mother was in the ICU I gave a clear instructions to my family members to check that she was turn every two hours to prevent her from developing a pressure ulcer. On December 12 my niece noted that my mother started to develop a diaper rash, this condition alerted me that she might be developing a pressure ulcer as well. Unfortunately she developed a Stage II and a DTI within a matter of 4 days. As a nurse, I know that a pressure ulcer is preventable specially if she was not connected to any medical device and on stable condition to be turned. I was able to talk to your Nursing Supervisor on December 14 with an unclear answer on how my mother developed that pressure ulcer within four days in that Unit and nothing was reported to her. The next day December 15, I talked to the Assistant Chief Nurse with the same answer that he will investigate the case and will get back to me within 24 hours. On December 16, I talked to your Chief Nurse and during our conversation instead of being accountable with the incident and acknowledging the negligence of your nurses, she put the blame to my family members because according to her they refused for her to be awaken for turning. In that case I asked her if nurse's explained the needs and importance of turning to my family members and she did not give me a clear answer. I then asked my Niece who was the one staying with my mother during her entire hospitalization and according to her, she doesn't remember refusing any care or turning. I know it's my family members words versus your nurses' words but with the kind of pressure ulcer that my mother developed, it's your nursing staff's negligence. Your Chief Nurse instructed me to file a formal complaint and never got back to my family or even apologized for the poor nursing care your hospital provided. We are a paying patient and my mother was not even admitted in the charity ward, I believe she deserved better care. I demand a full investigation on this complaint and my mother to be seen by your plastic surgeon for recommended treatment at your expense. Because based on my assessment my mother might recover from her stroke, but that pressure ulcer cause by negligence of your Nursing staff will not heal. As well I trust your institution that no tampering of nurses documentation will be done. For a hospital that top ranked these matter must be addressed immediately so no other unfortunate patient must undergoes such a poor nursing care. Incompetence at the lowest levels must be weeded out

Think thrice before you bring your patient here. This is a legit money-making hospital. They will let your patient die if you can't pay for the medications and procedures at their accounting area. They won't even release your patient or a cadaver of your patient without paying the balance in full. My mom was stuck in their morgue for 10 days because they didn't let me make and sign a promissory note at first, but when I complained them in Public Attorney's Office, DOH, Office of the House of Representative Egay Erice, and Office of the President, that's when they had me submit and sign it.

Before I started writing my review, I almost read all the written reviews. Luckily for those people who are treated well in this hospital and disappointment for those people who are not treated well or had a bad experience from this hospital like us. My daughter, had an accident last Friday Nov. 27, she was hit by a motorcycle rider and since this is the nearest hospital from the place of accident she decided to be brought to ER of FUMC. At around 8pm she was already there inside the ER. I will not elaborate more about the services they provided because I already filed a complain to the concern department of this hospital. Then, my daughter was out of the ER by 12mn. . My observation based on my experience at this time of the Year(Pandemic), it seems that patient healthcare are not being followed from FUMC again, this is only our experience. I still have more to write but I will wait first for their action about my complaint and then I will write a review again. It is alarming for us patient that money involve when you bring your loveones in this hospital is not a Joke, we are expecting more from your hospital, Sulitin natin ang binabayad sa inyo dahil ang mahal. Please lang... Nakakaawa naman yung ibang pumapasok sa inyo na need ng medical attention, hindi lang dapat may COVID ang puedeng gamutin ng maayos kasi lahat nagbabayad ng tama. We understand that those Covid Patients are your priorities but we also need your care.
