Melba's Farm Guest House

Just wanted to share some feedback and thoughts about our December 11-12 stay in Melba’s Farm. We weren’t given proper instructions on how to get to the farm. The road became too narrow for our vehicle and we were unsure if we could proceed safely so we had to park our car 1km away from the property. We walked with our luggage through a winding, steep, slippery, muddy and rocky road, unprepared that we would need to “hike” to our destination. Once we arrived, there were people in the lounge area but no one came up to welcome us. We had to ask around for the manager/receptionist then found the manager in front of the TV. No one gave any information about the place, what were the amenities, if any, what we could use in the kitchen area or if there were any instructions for the pool. We were just given a key and pointed to our room. During the entire stay, locals in the area would come in and out of the property - hanging out in the garden, playing loud music and talking to each other, sitting in the lounge or deck area, watching TV (which we could even hear from our room), sunbathing and even swimming in the pool. We ended up being inside our room, feeling like “kami pa nahihiya na lumabas”. No issues about the room, the bed was very comfortable and from the balcony, you had a great view of the forest. Breakfast was served at 7:30AM and the food was tasty and more than enough. Staff was also accommodating when we needed their help. I understand the main office is in Manila so you might not be able to frequently check on the place. I am not an expert on judging hotels or resorts but overall, not worth the P2800/night. I just wanted to let you know my feedback so you can hopefully improve on the points above. The owner reached out to us a couple of days after our stay to say that he would like to speak with us regarding our concerns. We waited for his call but it never came. Very disappointing.
