In the northern part of Konin's Old Town there is an impressive building distinguished by its architecture. It is the building of the Jewish Philological Middle School built in 1917-1929. The investment carried out by the Jewish community was not completed due to insufficient funds. At the same time, the school operated in a neighboring building. An interesting fact is that the director of the facility in the period 1922-1924 was Leopold Infeld, who later became the closest collaborator of Albert Einstein. A characteristic element of the building is the pseudo-portico supported on four Tuscan columns, crowned with a triangular tympanum with a semicircular window. The facade is decorated with a wide cornice between the first and second floors of the building. Currently, the building is part of a complex of buildings of the Center for Continuing Education Stefan Batory.
