Construction of the school ended in 1903 and from November 3 classes began at the new school. However, it still maintained its internal division by denomination. In 1910, 1,271 students attended the school (in Catholic - 605, evangelical - 648, Jewish - 18). Four years later, the number of students in a Catholic school exceeded the number of Evangelical students and decreased three times in the Jewish school. This was the result of the progressive Polonization of Chodzież and the emigration of Jewish people to the West and overseas. After World War I in 1919, the building housed two schools: the Catholic universal, whose head was Ferdynand Porscha, and the Protestant with the headmaster Wilhelm Fratzki. In 1920, however, Franciszek Nowacki became the headmaster of the whole school, who retired in 1933 after 42 years of work in education. In 1933, at the request of director Nowacki, the Ministry of Religious Denominations and Public Enlightenment gave the school the name of Fr. Stanisław Staszic. On this occasion, a plaque with the image of the patron carved in sandstone was built on the front wall of the building. The Germans, after entering the city in September 1939, destroyed the plaque. During the occupation, the school building was turned into a war hospital. After the liberation of Chodzież in January 1945, the organization of education began and school activities in the building began on March 21. On May 31, 1973, the name of Stanisław Staszic was reactivated. On May 31, 2003, the 100th anniversary of Universal Primary Education in Chodzież was inaugurated, which ended on November 3 of that year, 100 years after the beginning of the school year in the three denominations school built. On this occasion, a commemorative plaque with a bust of the school's patron was unveiled.
