Green Dream Boats Sp. z o.o. (07/09/2018)
We recommend a cruise on the Odra River. It is certainly one of the original ways of visiting the city and getting to know its charms from an unusual perspective Szczecin looks beautiful from the water. We also recommend Międzyodrze, a land of backwaters and wetlands located south of Szczecin, closed between the two arms of the Odra River - the East and the West. The area is located in the Lower Oder Valley Landscape Park, therefore it is not allowed to enter here by boats with combustion engines. Peace and quiet and clean water make Międzyodrze a paradise for water birds, beavers, otters and rare plant species. Thirsty for adventures and communing with wild nature and untouched nature, the best way to visit these areas is by using an ecological catamaran with a solar drive. You can visit this land without worrying about the negative impact of wild and intimate places on the environment. Sailing along a network of picturesque, winding canals, you pass fields of forget-me-nots, marigolds, irises, ferns and hundreds of other beautifully flowering plants. Boughs of dead trees stick out from under duckweed. Among the thicket of rushes, you can look for about 200 species of birds with their breeding grounds here, including herons, cormorants, white-tailed eagles, buzzards and kingfishers. The winding backwaters of Miedzyodrze are largely the result of human activity. Remains of the regulation works from the beginning of the 19th century are very impressive: forgotten locks, pumping stations, shafts, etc. In all waters between the currents of the Western Odra and Regalica, you can sail electric boats or on oars. The exception is the Forest Canal and the so-called Przekop, which connects both channels above the Forest Canal as well as the channel leading to the Berlin Lock above Gryfino.
