Unfortunately we ate here today.
I left furious enough to go straight to the "interwebs" to write what follows:
Prices are in the upper range for Polish restaurants, roughly 140% to 180% of what one would usually pay for a meal.
Portions are small, food is bland, coffee is dismal, service is minimalistic and bills contain items that you ordered but did not receive.
That's all you need to know.
For details read below.
First, we had some coffee because we really needed it. My wife an I are both coffee lovers. Hers (an "espresso") was like water you get out of the espresso machine when you clean it. Mine was a "cappuccino" obtained by pouring milk on soluble coffee.
I waited for the waiter (is this the way ethymology should work?) but no success. When I finally got up and took the two coffees back personally I was offered two replacements made in my presence with a plasticky cheapo machine (espresso still bad, cappucino at least not from instant coffee).
The waiter had in the meantime shown up again but showed no surprise when he saw me waiting on my own table, nor did he ask what's happening.
Food:
We had "Tartare beef". bland. For those who don't know what this is: it's raw ground beef with an egg yolk and various add-ons. I usually like it, this one had no flavor. Will come back here to comment if otherwise but I think at least it was fresh.
Soup (mushroom) - so obviously canned soup that it made me sad.
Our kids had pankakes and Pierogi Ruskie (okayish and bland but bland is sometimes good for kids).
Now, paytime:
There was no beer and no salad on our table but it was present on the bill.
The (now different) waiter said he cannot change it, because it was served by someone else. We insisted a bit and they said "just deduct the beer from the bill".
The coffee we paid for.
Atmosphere:
Waiters: stonefaced post-teenagers slightly annoyed by our presence. See Harry and Paul episode about Smiley and "Eeny Meeny Miney Mole" if you want an impression.
Still not original enough to be interesting.
Meal interrupted often by shouts of impatient customers.
So, in essence, go elsewhere.
Hope this review stays here, because obviously this arrogantly named dump (the restaurant) is here to stay. They will have customers forever because of their location on the main square of this astounding city.
Amazing food
I do not recommend. We got the worm salad. After reporting to the service, we waited a long time and no one came to us to explain the situation. After waiting 15/20 minutes without consulting us, it was found that it would be a great idea to give us a second salad 😅 we refused. The order price was slightly lowered in compensation. Apart from this "addition" in the salad, the organization of service in the restaurant was tragic. Dirty table. The lady who served us was very nice and that's the only plus.
When I walked in and sat at the table, no one came to me for a long time, so I got up myself and asked if I could ask for a card, the waitress looked around and instead of polite answer that there are a lot of people, please sit down to you right now, I just heard "there are no vacancies cards "and at the same time the woman that the next table, seeing the situation, gave me hers. I ordered water, tea for the child and broth. I got a cup of tea, unfortunately without water and when I still didn't get it after 10 minutes, I got up and asked for water for tea 🙈
After a long moment, the waitress brought two soups, although I ordered one, I noticed so she took one. The broth was lukewarm and I expected it to be hot. At the end, I was charged two soups for the receipt.
Despite my sincere intentions, I definitely do not recommend it.
Avoid. I was in Wednesday. "Zamojski" devolaj was made of raw pork. I turned to the kitchen but it hurt me enough that I had a sick fuck all evening in the hotel. If the cook cannot serve the fried devolaj, I am not surprised that this place is empty. The food tasted mediocre - ala milk bar.
