KALANG (09/07/2019)
The monument is clearly visible when we go through the New Lublin Gate and go along a wooden bridge. The monument commemorates the stay of Jews in Zamość. It was unveiled in 2007, 3 meters high, and presents David the Psalmist in an ecstatic pose with a harp in his hand. On the pedestal is a fragment of Psalm 27 "The Lord is my light, my salvation".

This monument stands in the northern part of the Old Town near the Old Lublin Gate. Made of bronze, it is about three meters high and its author is Gustaw Zemła. The monument was unveiled in May 2007 and presents the biblical David's Psalmist holding the harp in his hand. The construction of the monument was entirely financed and donated to the city by the Foundation "Karta z Dziejów", whose aim is to show the role of Jewish culture in the history of our country.

It is a monument made today, which is proof of the memory of Jews in the achievements of Zamość. Worth a visit, a must see for lovers of sacred music, especially psalms.

Built today in gratitude to Jews for their contribution to the history, development and culture of Zamość and Poland.
