Unfortunately, we were not able to get inside, but the building on a square plan is an interesting solution when it comes to a large synagogue
Krzysztof Kalinowski (09/26/2017)
The large synagogue was erected in the second half of the 16th century on a plan similar to a square. In the 18th and 19th centuries the building was reconstructed and restored. The synagogue has a baroque character, it is oriented. From the north-east side there is a men's room, and from the south-west there are two storeys: the lower one occupies the vestibule, the upper one is the women's gallery. The building is covered with a hipped roof. In the interior there is a niche in the Aron Kodesh and remains of a polychrome. During the Second World War, the Germans devastated the synagogue. In 1945, the building was intended for workshops of a craft cooperative, and after 1980 - abandoned.
