Normal stone large.
Access by bike or on foot
A bicycle route from Syców, for example
Pleasant, about 20 km both ways
Running around from Syców to the devil's stone through niwki and kobyla Góra about 50 km.
The fact of the story of the devil and a real stone that can be touched, etc. makes a big impression on small curious people, 100 questions per minute, you also need to be prepared. In the summer, without mosquito repellent I can't advise 🙂
Fantastic place
A huge erotic called the "Devil's Stone".
10 min by bike from the center of Międzyborz. Good passable route (dirt road - attention to the sand), but not marked in any way. you have to go to azimuth or coordinate. The easiest way from the side of Międzyborz or Kraszów is new asphalt on the so-called Dęby. More or less at the top is a dirt road towards the woods. the stone is next to the second forest around 25 m from the road.
Circumference 18, diameter 5.50 m, average height 1.50 m. It comes out of the ground from 1.10-2.60 m high (measurement: E. Bachliński and F. Fąka). How much is in the ground has not been checked. Despite such a large size, it does not have the status of a natural monument!
It impresses especially on small travelers, there is a legend associated with stone:
The inter-Baltic land abounds in numerous ravines, hills and forests. Centuries ago, this area favored numerous bands and robbers who attacked merchants following forest paths and then hid with their loot in numerous forest hideouts. This state of affairs suited Lucifer, who, as the devil's king, took great care that his possession of souls who live against God's laws would constantly increase. What was his rage when he learned that God-fearing townspeople from Międzyborz, in order to prevent the spread of evil, decided to found a church in their city where they could pray to God. It spent a night's sleep from devil's eyes for many nights, and finally decided to destroy the work of human hands. He chose the most devoted of his devils and entrusted them with the destruction of the church that was being finished in Międzyborz. He ordered them to take a huge rock from the depths of hell and then drop them on the church. This task was to be carried out at night before the first chickens crowed because then they would leave their Czartów powers and devils would weaken.
Lucifer's trusted charts were extremely happy because they hadn't been outside of hell for a long time. They set off eagerly, which was very strange for lazy beasts. The boulder they brought out of the depths of hell was enormous, the sight of it made a smile on the evil face of Lucifer. He praised his chosen ones and rubbed his hands with satisfaction. However, despite the late night, overzealous beasts could not postpone the task to the second night and decided to immediately please their Lord. So they grabbed a huge boulder and hurried towards the inter-Baltic church.
At that time, people looked happy at their work, all they had to do was hang the bell on the church tower. People like this, seeing the close culmination of their work, decided not to go to rest and work at night so that the morning beating of the bell would announce to everyone about the finished work.
The Czartowski envoys inevitably approached the towers of the church in Międzyborz with the boulder carried.
The journey was long and exhausting, at some point exhausted beasts who had not been on the surface of the earth for a long time heard wonderful female singing.
A beautiful girl sang in the garden in Niwki Kraszewski, who went out in the morning to walk around her garden. Well - devils tempted by the beautiful singing and the view of the woman decided to "slip" to rest and look and listen. They even thought that they might persuade the lady to sin. Unaware that the inhabitants of Międzyborz finish their work hung in the air. Suddenly the bell rang in the Miedzyborski church. Charts in these shoots rushed towards him wanting to make up for lost time.
However, the roosters, awakened by the ringing of the bell, began to drink, devils lost their power and dropped the stone. The bang was so huge that it terrified the girl who fled from the garden to the room in front of the image of the Blessed Virgin to whom she raised prayers and became unreachable for devilish temptations.
The devils with their tucked backs returned to their master the lychee and for a long time their moans escaping from the ground could be heard so severely punished.
However ... Devil's Stone can be admired to this day near Kraszów but only in part ... the rest fell so deeply into the ground due to the impact that only a small fragment of it remained on the surface.
