Nice and well-kept building in private hands.
Charmingly out of stock.
The building complex was erected on the southeastern side of the city on the wastelands of Fr. missionaries and Piarists, at the then Warsaw route. Initially, an English-style landscape park "with lots of rare trees and plants" was created. A complex of buildings was erected in the park in the 1820s, designed by Karol Krauze. It consisted of a tower, a chapel, a caretaker's house and a small palace.
A preserved four-sided tower with a round tower was built to house a military library. At the top of the tower with battlement was an observation deck. Epigraphic elements from the Primate's castle were embedded in the wall of the tower. After World War II, for over 30 years, the ZHP Corps Command Headquarters was located here. In the 1990s, the building was taken over by the city authorities and then sold.
On the opposite side, at ul. The palace's other buildings were built. There is the general's seat in the form of a neo-Gothic castle (palace) with a round tower. In the walls built of brick and iron ore concise elements from the castle were embedded, among others coats of arms of the primate of Przerembski and Dzierzgowski. Currently, the palace houses the Gallery of Contemporary Painting by Zofia and Roman Artymowski and a chamber of memorabilia of General Stanisław Klicki. Other objects of the romantic architectural ensemble: the caretaker's house and the chapel were located in the park behind the palace, lapidary elements were also embedded in their walls.
General Klicki participated in the struggles for independence - from the defense of the Constitution of May 3 to the November Uprising - and commander of the horse shooters division in the Kingdom of Poland. The division staff was stationed in Łowicz. At the park on the west side a Mars Field was created for military exercises and ceremonies.
Currently, the palace is the property of the painters Zofia and Roman Artymowski.
