It was built around 1784 according to a design by Szymon Bogumił Zug. The arch played an important role in the layout of the garden in Arkadia, as it served as the frame for the main viewing axis of Helena Radziwiłł's garden. In addition, it was a viewing frame for the Temple of Diana from the east.
